☄️ New Project | The Internet Index
A collection of websites on knowledge and empathy
Hello! Welcome to another edition of The Internet in a Telegram, a newsletter published by Nevoazul about mediums and messages. After a few months of research, we are happy to share our new project: The Internet Index, a collaborative archive of websites for a wider and more curious Internet. That's what we are writing about today.
The Internet Index
The Internet Index is Nevoazul's first digital and collaborative project and aims to showcase websites dedicated to knowledge and empathy.
Founded on the idea that the web can be a tool of care, instead of control, we look for curious spaces online. With this project, our purpose is to find websites that promote learning and attention, rather than relying on data-driving algorithms that keep confirming our world-views.
The Index is divided into two mains themes: knowledge and empathy. Inside each category, you can find websites with a broad range of topics. From climate emergency to gentle architecture, from feminist history to sound data, we share a selection of links where information, not consumption, is at the heart of the web.
Being an open and collaborative project, we invite you to submit as many websites as you wish. Web surfing can be a creative exercise to stimulate the mind and a good reminder of how vast the Internet is. The most interesting submissions will receive a printed copy of Nevoazul 3.
In a nutshell, The Internet Index wants to show that the web is wider than it looks or, to use SadGirl Online's metaphor, that limiting the conversation about the internet to what we consume on social media is like having access to the Library of Alexandria and only being interested about what's happening in the lobby.
We will update the Index once a month and feature the best entries in this newsletter. If you are looking for bite-sized information on our web walks, follow us on Instagram.
Have fun browsing our Index and don't hesitate to send us your favorite websites.
Até já,
Inês 🌿
